You must be getting impatient. So, let’s get right to it – I’m here to share my Hershey’s kiss cookie recipe with you.

What’s to Love About These Hershey’s Kiss Cookies?

I’m not even sure that’s the right question to put there. Because what’s NOT to love about the world’s favorite milk chocolate candy turned into a cookie? It’s a perfect treat for the holiday season, from Christmas to Valentine’s. At least, they’re my family’s favorite Christmas cookies. And when I take them to cookie exchanges, they’re gone in, like, 20 minutes!

But the best part is the simplicity of these Hershey’s kiss sugar cookies. With less than ten simple ingredients, you can bake delicious cookies for the whole family. It also takes a few minutes to throw everything together, and your oven does the rest of the work.

Ingredients for Hershey’s Kiss Cookies

Salted Butter:

You’ll need 1/2 cup of salted butter softened at room temperature. Why salted? Because salted butter adds a little hint of saltiness that complements the sweetness of your cookies. But watch your measurements. Too much or too little butter can make your cookies dry and crumbly.

Granulated Sugar:

One cup of granulated sugar to sweeten your cookies is just the right amount. You can also use powdered sugar, but I find granulated sugar works best and gives our cookies a nice crunch. If you have brown sugar, you can use 1/2 cup of it too.

All-Purpose Flour:

Two cups of flour are enough to yield enough cookies for the whole family. You can use a gluten-free flour blend if you need to.

Red Sanding Sugar:

It is optional, but I highly recommend adding it for a nice festive look. You need this ingredient for the rolling process.

Baking Soda:

1/2 teaspoon of baking soda is all you need to get a nicely risen cookie. Adding too much baking soda can give your cookies a bitter taste.

Salt:

Don’t forget the 1/4 teaspoon of salt! Salt helps to enhance the flavor of your cookies, so don’t skip it.

Hershey’s Kisses:

These are the star of your show! Just grab a big bag of Chocolate Kisses, and you’re good to go.

Vanilla Extract:

Two teaspoons of vanilla extract will give your cookies a nice flavor boost. You can also use almond extract or any other flavor of your choice.

Milk:

Two tablespoons of milk give your cookies a nice texture and help to bring all the ingredients together. I prefer using whole milk, but any type of milk will do.

Frequently Asked Questions

How Should I Freeze the Leftover Cookie Dough?

If you don’t plan on using your cookie dough right away, freezing it for later use is the best way to keep it fresh. Simply scoop the dough onto a parchment-lined baking sheet and freeze for an hour or two. Then, store the individual 1-inch cookie dough balls in an airtight container in the freezer. You can also use a freezer bag. When you’re ready to bake, just put the frozen dough balls directly on a cookie sheet and bake!

Can I Bake a Larger Batch of Cookies?

Yes, you can certainly double the recipe. If you’re looking to cut down on baking time, you can even bake two sheets of cookies at once. Just make sure that the baking sheets are placed on different racks in the oven so that the heat can circulate properly.

What Else Can I Add to My Cookies?

The possibilities are endless! You can mix and match ingredients to create your own flavor combination. Try adding mini chocolate chips, chopped nuts, or other dried fruits to the dough for extra flavor. You can also melt some white chocolate and drizzle it over the finished cookies for a yummy topping. A dollop of creamy peanut butter or chunks of other chocolate candies would also be a great addition!

These Hershey’s Kiss cookies are just too good to pass up. Whether you’re making them for a special occasion or a regular snack time, they won’t disappoint. And I’m sure you’ll be tempted to eat more than just one!

How to Make Hershey’s Kiss Cookies?

To bake a batch of these deliciously warm cookies, heat the oven to 350 degrees. Also, line a cookie tray with parchment paper and set it aside.

Take a medium bowl and whisk your dry ingredients: all-purpose flour, baking soda, and salt. Mix with a wooden spoon until combined and set aside.

In a separate large bowl, cream together butter and sugar using an electric hand mixer until light and fluffy. You can set the beater to medium speed, and it’ll be done within a minute or two. Also, add your wet ingredients at this point: milk and vanilla extract for additional flavor.

Now, stir in your dry ingredients, half at a time, with a wooden spoon until everything is blended into a dough.

Now take another mixing bowl and mix sugar and red sanding sugar together. The red color will contrast nicely with the chocolate.

Using a tablespoon cookie scoop, form small cookie dough balls and roll each ball in the red sugar mixture. Place the dough balls on your prepared baking sheet, spacing them at least 2 inches apart.

Bake for 8 to 10 minutes or until the cookies get a nice light golden brown hue. As soon as you remove them from the oven, press one Hershey’s Kiss into the center of each cookie. Allow your cookies to cool for at least 5 minutes on the wire rack before diving into them.

Enjoy with a cup of hot chocolate, and don’t forget to share! 🙂
